We have a wonderful opportunity available working for a single gentleman with young adult children who frequent the home for weekends based on their schedules. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), and you will be part of a team of 5 that supports the principal 7 days a week, typically from 8:00am-9:30pm. The 40-hour work schedule varies weekly with different days and hours, including nights and weekends, so flexibility is very important. The schedule is normally set, but there are times when the principal’s calendar changes so last-minute changes occur with staff shifts.
Role and Responsibilities:
House Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the household. This includes, but not limited to, a large variety of domestic duties:
• All housekeeping: laundry, ironing, making beds, tidying up, dusting, vacuum, clean bathrooms, kitchen, etc.
• Must be able to lift and carry basic items up to about 50lbs
• Staff is responsible for house provisioning:
o Grocery shopping
o Household supplies
o Basic Errands
o Drink Inventory, which includes knowledge of family preferences
o Wine Inventory
o Cigar inventory
• Petcare (2 dogs)
• Basic meal prep (occasional and simple)
• Formal and informal serving during dinner parties/events
• Answer phones, doors, drive, and greet guests entering the home from vendors, family, friends, and coworkers
• Help with vehicle service appointments
• House walk throughs - check AV systems/pool/Koi Pond
• TV & DVR Management
• Help with Events at the residence
• Liaison with Following Departments (Family Office, Security, IT)
• Occasional travel may be required to other residences or overseas
Qualifications Requirements:
• 3-5 years of domestic staffing or similar experience and have verifiable references
• Demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality
• Proactive and hands-on
• Strong organizational skills
• Demonstrate proper social etiquette and cultural knowledge (applicable to position)
• Service-minded
• Attentive to detail
• Tech-savvy: ability to create documents and templates such as checklists, spreadsheets in Word and Excel, use of apps, researching and ordering on-line, Outlook 365
• Hotel and/or yacht experience a plus
• Experience with some light Personal Assistant tasks a plus
• Strong work ethic
• Strong Interpersonal skills and work well with groups
• Able to travel to other residences and potential family trips if additional support is needed and/or Principal’s request
• Able to work flexible nights and weekends (staff will rotate weekends to the best of ability based on principal’s calendar)
